THE MP for Vale of Clwyd, James Davies, is encouraging people on Universal Credit, Pension Credit and other means-tested benefits to take advantage of “social tariffs”, which are discounted broadband and mobile deals.
There are just ten days left for people to claim Pension Credit and still qualify for the cost of living boost, which will be paid directly into their bank accounts.
To ensure that a successful backdated claim falls within the qualifying period for the extra £900 cost of living help, eligible pensioners are being urged to claim Pension Credit as soon as possible, and by no later than May 19.
Under the scheme, pensioners in Vale of White Horse who are receiving housing benefit will receive a letter which will then encourage them to apply for Pension Credit.
